We booked a private whale watching tour when our cruise line was not able to offer one to us on that day. What a happy turn of events! The Alaska Sea to Shore family welcomed ours with open arms and hearts for a day that was truly beyond our jaded imaginations! You think you know what to expect after a lifetime of reading National Geographic and watching countless documentaries depicting Alaska and the wondrous flora and fauna found there. We were not prepared for the intense emotions we experienced watching both whales -OMyGoodness! and taking in scenery so beautiful, our boisterous family was gobsmacked into silence at times. The descriptors I can offer here are so inadequate. I do think the intimacy of a small family group was the right choice for us. What a day!
