Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT MAKES YOUR WHALE WATCHING COMPANY DIFFERENT?
One of the highlights that separates us from other whale watching tours is our beach landings, an opportunity to go ashore and step into the wilderness. Our adventures are also kid friendly with no minimum age requirement, so bring along your little ones! And we are a family-run business which means you will be going out on the water with the owners for every trip!
HOW SOON SHOULD I MAKE A RESERVATION?
Our trips are for up to 10 passengers and can fill up quick! We would recommend booking in advance so you can have a guaranteed seat for the date and time you want. We offer a variety of tour times to accommodate your schedule or other plans. If you don't see a tour time that fits your needs PLEASE contact us, we would be happy to help meet your requests. We can build custom or private tours too!
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Payment is taken in full at the time of your booking and reservations in advance are recommended as tour space is limited. If you need to cancel your reservation please contact us. Cancellations are eligible for a 100% refund if you cancel 30 days before your tour date. Cancellations made 15-29 days prior to your tour date will receive a 50% refund. If you cancel within 14 days, or do not show up for your scheduled tour, there is no refund. Refunds are generally processed immediately and take about 7-10 business days.
DO YOU GUARANTEE WHALE SIGHTINGS ON YOUR TRIPS?
While we don't guarantee whale sightings, we have complete confidence that we will find a humpback whale for you! With our 20 years of experience here, we are confident you will be delighted at the abundance of wildlife that are in these waters.
WHAT IS YOUR WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICY?
Juneau is located in the heart of the largest temperate rainforest in the world, so it always helps to be prepared for a little wet weather. Plan to dress in layers and wear a rain jacket and waterproof boots. Weather conditions in the inside passage and around Auke Bay can be relatively calmer; however, customers will be fully refunded if the captain determines the seas are too rough for a safe and comfortable trip.
IS TRANSPORTATION INCLUDED? WHERE DO I MEET FOR OUR TOUR?
Yes, roundtrip transportation is included in the cost of the tour and you will meet your friendly driver outside of the Mt. Roberts Tramway building in downtown. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your tour departure time.
CAN I DRIVE TO YOUR LOCATION TO MEET THE BOAT?
If you have a personal vehicle or have rented a car for the day you are welcome to drive to meet the group at the boat. We are located at Statter Harbor in Auke Bay. It is approximately 30 minutes each way from downtown and a great way to see all of Juneau! PLEASE contact us if you choose to not take our shuttle and wish to drive yourselves so we can make a note in your reservation. This information is also provided in your confirmation letter at the time of booking.
WILL WE MAKE IT BACK TO OUR CRUISE SHIP ON TIME IF WE BOOK WITH YOU?
Even though we are an independent company, we ensure all guests will make it back to their cruise ship with plenty of time before their "all aboard." In the highly unlikely event that something goes wrong, we collectively work together as an industry to assure you are taken care of.
HOW ACCESSIBLE IS YOUR TOUR?
Our tour is accessible to a wide range of people, abilities and ages however, guests must be able to step or be assisted onto the boat from the dock. Those guests with limited mobility are welcome to stay in the cabin during the beach landing as most coastlines we will be visiting are rocky and uneven. If you are unsure if our tour experience is right for you or if you have a special need we can help accommodate please contact us for more information.
